Anna Paquin

Anna Paquin, a Canadian-New Zealander actor. Born in Winnipeg and raised in Wellington Paquin was able to make her acting debut in the role of Flora McGrath in the romantic drama film The Piano for which she received an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress aged 11 years old, and was the 2nd youngest recipient in Oscar history. The part as Flora McGrath - the daughter to an Scottish muffle pianist in New Zealand at mid-19th Century was a part she won at an open audition. At nine her age, she was a novice or had any experience in acting. When she was a teenager her family left Canada to the United States. Paquin had a small part in the film's title role when she was just a young girl on Franco Zeffirelli's Jane Eyre (1996) as well as an important role in the movie Fly Away Home (1996). Paquin was a part-time actress in the TV film of 1997 adaptation to Carson McCullers' novel The Member of the Wedding. The actress also played the Princess of Spain in Steven Spielberg's Amistad (2007). She portrayed teenagers in Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (2000) and A Walk on the Moon (2000). The actress played her character groupie Polexia Aphrodisa in Almost Famous (2000).
