Harry Edward Styles (also known as Harry Styles in the music world) is a British composer and singer. Harry Styles was one of the original members of One Direction. Born in Holmes Chapel (Cheshire), England, on 1 February 1994, he is the son Des Styles, and Anne Cox. Harry Styles, a former student at the Holmes Chapel Comprehensive School, created a band named White Eskimo with three fellow students. They took home the Battle of Bands in 2009, thanks to their outstanding performance. The musician always had an interest in music, but he was enthused to be a lawyer or physical therapist. To support his family, he worked some time at a bakery. Harry Styles, in 2010 made an audition for The X Factor. His single Is not She Lovely was and was performed by Stevie Wonder. The group was then forced to split up because of the fact that they were selected. Nicole Scherzinger, the jury participant of The X Factor suggested Harry Styles join a band called One Direction with Liam Payne Zayn Mlik Niall Horan Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne. Simon Cowell sponsored the young group in 2010. During the competition the band played songs, such as My Life Would Suck Without You by Kelly Clarkson and Total Eclipse of the Heart by Bonnie Tyler so the group was one of the contenders to win the contest. However, they finished third, behind Rebecca Ferguson. Harry Styles did not receive a prize, however Cowell has offered a two million-pound contract with One Direction in order for them to join Syco Records.
