Kelly Clarkson has been a American songwriter and singer for more than 20 years. She was crowned American Idol during the first season. This win did more than propel her to fame and acclaim, but it also earned her a multi-album record deal with RCA Records 19 Recordings and 'S Records. Since then, she's released many studio albums, including three which reached the top of the US Billboard 200' chart, while her other albums barely fell short of the top spot. Her name is one of the most well-known artists that have emerged from American Idol. She experimented as she gained success with different musical themes and styles, often writing her own songs. As a tribute to her talent and uniqueness, she has been rewarded with a variety of accolades and awards. She has been awarded an award called the Grammy Award 3 times. Apart from her music career she has appeared in films and television shows. She also wrote the children's novel River Rose and the Magical Lullaby as well as been associated in a variety of charitable organisations.
