The singer left her place in the Panthers in 1969, and left high school following her time at Calumet High School, and Kenwood High School. (Now Kenwood Academy). She played in Chicago together with Cash McCall and his group Lyfe, which also included Hassan Khan. Chaka Khan and Hassan got married in the year 1970.
